About Organ Stasis

The STASIS FOUNDATION, a 501 C (3) Charitable Organization, resides in the “Epitome of Luxury.“ Host to governors, senators, foreign dignitaries, movie moguls and country-western stars, this estate has served as the backdrop for several movies, including "Johnny Be Good" starring Uma Thurman and Robert Downey Jr., and large charity benefits. This estate captures the essence of the grandeur of true Texas style and represents a wonderland in the middle of the Lone Star state’s Hill Country, only 45 minutes from the San Antonio International Airport.

Every Room is a Masterpiece of Perfection. Artistically blending traditional graciousness and sophisticated drama, the STASIS FOUNDATION’s magnificent estate is brimming with rich architectural detailing and European inspired nuances. Impeccably crafted, it is at once exceedingly elegant, yet warm and inviting.

A tireless attention to detail has created the ultimate luxury masterpiece, an incomparable 3-story 21,000 square-foot Mansion perched majestically atop the highest hill, to capture the breathtaking views from the 32 (3 ½ feet wide) columns that support verandahs on all sides. Step onto any verandah and revel in the stunning view of the lake with its gazebo, and lush surroundings, from floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors reaching heights of 13 feet – the most perfect setting to enjoy the famous Texas Hill country sunsets.

The impressive reception hall illuminated by a pair of Baccarat crystal chandeliers  and a circular staircase embellished with a breathtaking stained glass dome ceiling is a fitting introduction to the STASIS FOUNDATION’S main edifice. The Mansion’s luxury touches include heavily carved imported moldings, six wood burning fireplaces, and two pair of circa 1880 London stained and beveled-glass doors which adorn the elevator and entry to the morning room.

The Master Suite, ornate with French-style, hand-carved furniture, features two lavish baths with 24-carat gold fixtures and complete dressing areas. The formal Dining Room, graced by a beautifully hand-painted dome ceiling, provides the perfect setting for exclusive entertaining. Is there a Ballroom? But of course! And resplendent with amenities, the Mansion is serviced by two state-of-the-art kitchens and two wet bars for ease of entertaining or intimate dining.

Magnificent Italian-marble fountains, statues, and alluring English formal gardens help to create the ultimate experience for those who demand the finest. Indeed, this Eden-esque landscape has served as a backdrop for several movies and large charity benefits, and has even been featured on “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.” According to the OKLAHOMAN’s Richard Mize, November 20, 1999, of this gorgeous “trophy” estate, on the banks of the Guadalupe River in Comfort, Texas, Robin Leach called it “one of the 10 most spectacular personal dwellings in the world.”

Field of Dreams…

The sheer boldness of the land is divinely inspirational – nearly 1,000 acres, including a mile of Guadalupe River frontage, all secured behind miles of game proof fencing.  Add to this a menagerie of native white tail deer and exotic animals such as axis, llamas, zebras, miniature donkeys, swans, horses, longhorns and limousine cattle, all thriving in the lush, fertile coastal Bermuda pasture, and the picture begins to sharpen – this stretch of land is among the most special in the world, a statement with which the myriad of governors, senators, movie moguls, foreign dignitaries and country western stars who have visited surely would agree.

Forever Views…

A red-brick bridge and gently winding paths connect the Mansion with the property’s other architectural achievement: the 7,000-square-foot Lodge, which features a 20-foot splitwood high beam ceiling, and a wall of windows and 7 sets of French doors that overlook the 30-foot waterfall, pool and spa, gazebo and trophy-bass lake. A cabana services the pool and gazebo areas with a full service wet bar, sauna, exercise room, and 6 his-and-her dressing rooms. The Lodge’s Great Room with pool table, baby-grand piano and professional 15-foot bar is the perfect atmosphere for the casual entertaining of guests. The inviting four-bedroom, five and one-half bath Lodge features a professional chef’s kitchen and a stunning view of the pool and eight acre lake and the surrounding Texas Hill Countryside.

Other auxiliary buildings on the estate include a three-bedroom two-bath Carriage House, three-bedroom two-bath Cliff House, horticultural center, barns, and the original 100-year old Homestead. The estate also includes fully equipped offices, with kitchen and bath, making this the perfect setting for a country club/corporate retreat or a Mecca for large-scale entertaining – all in the grandest Texas style.
